Emeth Psychological Services (“Emeth”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a private psychological practice founded and operated by Heartwill Elewosi, M.Sc., Registered Provisional Psychologist (#P8871), College of Alberta Psychologists. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, protect, and disclose personal information through our website and in connection with the provision of psychological services, in accordance with Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the Health Professions Act (Alberta), the College of Alberta Psychologists Standards of Practice, and all other applicable legislation. By using this website or by booking a consultation or services through our Jane App booking system, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

About Our Practice and Supervision
Heartwill Elewosi practises as a Registered Provisional Psychologist under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist, as required by the Health Professions Act (Alberta) and the College of Alberta Psychologists. The identity of the supervising Registered Psychologist is available upon request and is referenced in the informed consent documentation provided to clients prior to the commencement of services.
Supervision of provisional practice may require the supervising psychologist to review clinical records, session notes, and case materials. Clients are informed of this arrangement as part of the informed consent process. Such review is conducted in accordance with CAP Standards of Practice and applicable confidentiality obligations.

3.1 Information Collected Through This Website
When you visit www.emethpsychologicalservices.com, our website host, Squarespace, may automatically collect certain technical information including:

3.2 Information Collected Through Our Booking System
We use Jane App (Jane Software Inc.) as our scheduling and client management platform. Jane App is hosted and operated independently of this website. When you book a consultation or service through our Jane App booking link, you are directed to a Jane App-hosted booking page operated by Riverwest Therapy Collective.
Jane App collects and stores personal information you provide during the booking process, which may include:
- Your full name, email address, and phone number
- Date of birth and demographic information
- Health history and presenting concerns (where provided at intake)
- Credit card or payment information (processed securely by Jane App)
- Appointment history and session notes
Emeth Psychological Services shares a Jane App booking and practice management system operated through Riverwest Therapy Collective (heartbodymind.janeapp.com). While each practitioner within the collective maintains their own confidential client files, the shared platform infrastructure is administered by Riverwest Therapy Collective. Jane App operates in compliance with Canadian privacy legislation, including PIPA and PIPEDA. Jane App’s Privacy Policy is available at www.janeapp.com/privacy.
We do not store credit card information on our own systems. Payment processing is handled entirely through Jane App’s secure platform.
3.3 Information You Provide Directly
If you contact us by email or phone, we collect the information you voluntarily provide, such as your name, contact details, and the nature of your inquiry. This information is used only to respond to your inquiry and is not retained longer than necessary for that purpose. We encourage you not to share any sensitive or health-identifying data when communicating with us via phone or email.
Sending an email or making a phone inquiry to Emeth Psychological Services does not establish a psychologist-client relationship and does not create an obligation on the part of the practice to provide services.
How We Use Your Personal Information
We use personal information collected through this website and our booking system for the following purposes:
- To schedule and administer consultations and therapy appointments
- To provide psychological services and maintain clinical records as required by law and by CAP Standards of Practice

5.1 Clinical Supervision
As a Registered Provisional Psychologist, Heartwill Elewosi is required to receive regular supervision from a Registered Psychologist. Supervision may involve the review of de-identified or identified clinical information. Clients are informed of this requirement in the informed consent documentation prior to the commencement of services.
5.2 Consent
We may disclose your personal information to third parties, including other healthcare providers, when we have obtained your written consent to do so.
5.3 Legal and Safety Obligations
We may disclose personal information without your consent where required or permitted by law, including:
- Where there is a serious and imminent risk of harm to you or to an identifiable third party
- Where disclosure is required by a court order, subpoena, or other legal process
- Where required by the College of Alberta Psychologists in the course of a complaint, investigation, or discipline proceeding
- Where required to report child abuse or neglect under Alberta’s Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act
- Where required under any other applicable provincial or federal legislation
5.4 Service Providers
We share limited personal information with the following third-party service providers for the sole purpose of operating our practice:
- Jane Software Inc. (Jane App): Scheduling, clinical records management, and payment processing. Jane App is bound by confidentiality obligations and operates in compliance with Canadian privacy legislation.
- Squarespace, Inc.: Website hosting and analytics. Squarespace does not have access to clinical records or booking information.
- Riverwest Therapy Collective: Shared practice space and shared Jane App booking platform infrastructure. Riverwest Therapy Collective practitioners do not have access to each other’s client records. Administrative staff of Riverwest Therapy Collective may have limited access to scheduling information for administrative purposes only.
We do not authorize any service provider to use or disclose your personal information for any purpose other than the purpose for which they were engaged.
Virtual Services and Jurisdictional Limitations
Emeth Psychological Services provides in-person services in Calgary, Alberta and virtual services to clients located in Alberta and virtually across Nova Scotia only. Heartwill Elewosi holds registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (Alberta) and the Ghana Psychology Council.
Virtual psychological services are provided through a secure, PIPEDA-compliant video platform. Clients accessing virtual services are responsible for ensuring that they are located within a province where Heartwill Elewosi holds active registration at the time of service. We are unable to provide services to clients located outside Alberta and Nova Scotia without appropriate registration in that jurisdiction.
Clients located in Nova Scotia are advised that Nova Scotia’s Personal Information International Disclosure Protection Act (PIIDPA) may impose additional limitations on the disclosure of personal health information to parties outside Nova Scotia.
Protection of Personal Information
We take the protection of your personal information seriously. We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These safeguards include:
- Use of a password-protected, encrypted electronic records management system (Jane App)
- Secure, encrypted communication channels for virtual sessions
- Physical security measures at the office location (Riverwest Therapy Collective, #850, 700 4 Ave SW, 8th floor, McFarlane Tower, Calgary, AB T2P 3J4)
- Limiting access to personal information to those who need it to provide services
- Compliance with CAP Standards of Practice regarding record storage and retention
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. While we take all reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.
Retention of Personal Information
Clinical records are retained in accordance with the College of Alberta Psychologists Standards of Practice, which require that records be retained for a minimum of ten (10) years from the date of last service for adult clients and a minimum of ten (10) years from the date the client reaches the age of majority for clients who were minors at the time of service.
Non-clinical personal information collected through this website, such as email inquiries from individuals who did not proceed to service, is retained only as long as necessary to respond to the inquiry and is then securely deleted.
Your Rights Under PIPA
Under Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), you have the right to:
- Request access to your personal information held by Emeth Psychological Services
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Withdraw consent to the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information (subject to legal and professional record-keeping obligations)
- Make a complaint to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta if you believe your privacy rights have been violated

Requests to access clinical records will be processed in accordance with CAP Standards of Practice and may be subject to applicable exemptions under PIPA and the Health Professions Act.
